We're now ready and waiting for next year!"
This year was the first time we took part in the BBC News School Report - and we organised it with help from our teachers. It took two months of after school meetings, of planning and preparation, and then News Day 2014 came around! We had snuck in a Practice Day a few days beforehand to film a few scripts, but this was suddenly real. We had a countdown on the whiteboard, we had reporters running in and out of our Newsroom with updates and saying certain articles had been written, and we had the editors working away. It was extremely stressful, and we faced technical faults such as filling our school's server without realising, but our reports on: 9am - 6pm school days, cyber-bullying, women in sport, reading popularity and compulsory welsh went live in the end! Across the School Report, we interviewed our teachers, as well as author Bryce Thomas and critically-acclaimed poet Benjamin Zephaniah for the BBC. We all really enjoyed the experience of getting involved with the report, as, unsurprisingly, none of us had ever took part in an interview or worked to a deadline with scripts!
We're now ready and waiting for next year!
